Dear Student Organization Leaders,
I hope you had a wonderful winter break and happy new year. With the start of the new semester, many student organizations will have meetings this first month. To ease the funding process and to ensure funding is acquired, I just wanted to touch base and offer a few friendly reminders. The SBA’s Allocation Hearing session begins Wednesday January 10th, 2018.
For your organization to make a request at this hearing, it needs to submit an Organization Allocations Request (“OAR”) by Monday January 8th, 2018 at 5:00 pm. You can access the OAR form at https://ufl.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9BOArxPeNbk9xWJ
I have also attached two documents for your review. The first is the entire Spring 2018 SBA Allocations Hearing Schedule. On that document, please pay close attention to not only the dates of the hearings but also the dates for when OARs need to be submitted. Generally, OARs should be submitted by the Monday before the hearing with the exception of January 16th for MLK Jr. day. I have also attached the “UF Law Student Organization’s Funding Guide” (“Funding Guide”). This document overviews how you can access funding for your organization.
Finally, please remember that in order for your organization to receive any SBA funding through the SBA’s allocation process, your organization must exhaust all funds it has in Student Government Accounts and any private accounts it has (i.e. Restricted Accounts). I am happy to discuss your balances in these accounts. The Funding Guide details these accounts and how to access these funds.
If you have any questions or would like to strategize your funding needs this semester, please feel free to contact me. I am more than happy to meet with you to discuss any funding questions and needs. You can also find helpful information at uflawsba.com/resources/funding about funding.
Best,
